Pushtika (“the App”) is an offline-first reading application for Bengali stories and novels. This Privacy Policy describes how the App handles information.

1. Information stored on your device

Reading progress, bookmarks, library membership, downloaded book files, and app preferences are stored locally on your device. This data does not leave your device unless you explicitly choose to share it through other means outside the App.

2. Network requests

The App makes HTTPS requests to the public catalog API and related endpoints to:

• Fetch the book catalog and cover/metadata URLs
• Check for application updates
• Retrieve published in-app announcements

These requests typically include standard HTTP headers (User-Agent, Accept). No account registration is required for basic use. The App does not require you to create a user account or provide an email address.

3. Notifications

If you grant notification permission, the App may display system notifications for new books or announcements after it has polled the public API. Notification permission can be changed at any time in Android system settings.

4. Third-party content and links

Book covers and PDF files are referenced by external HTTPS URLs chosen by the content operator. The App does not control the privacy practices of those external hosts. Opening a book or cover may cause your device to request resources from those hosts.

5. Analytics and advertising

The App does not include third-party analytics SDKs or advertising SDKs in the current distribution described by this repository.

6. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13. Do not use the App if you are under the age required by applicable law in your jurisdiction.

7. Changes

This policy may be updated from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when material revisions are made. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy where permitted by law.
